Artificial intelligence. Conceptual computer artwork of a human brain containing hundreds of microprocessor chips (rectangular structures). The brain is seen from the side, with the front of the brain at right. Human brains contain billions of nerve cells, interconnected to form a network that has immense processing power. Computer processing is done using engineered chips made from silicon. This image could be used to represent the merging of biological and electronic networks into a form of artificial intelligence. In the future, chips containing nerve cells could be implanted in the brain to replace damaged brain tissue, or to augment human faculties.
