In the week where the NHS turned 70 years old and England made it through to the World Cup semi-final we’ve seen a huge number of images uploaded to 17³Ô¹ÏÔÚÏß and here we’re highlighting some of our favourites as pictures of the week…

Why we think this is great: You don’t have to be a huge football fan to feel the excitement of England’s World Cup chances growing, and that’s coming from a non football fan. Even I’m starting to get excited, chanting ‘it’s coming home’ and falling a little more in love with Gareth Southgate every day and the team could have photography to thank for the growing pandemonium and positive press.

Why we think this is great: We’re still all sweating in the sunshine this week and the best way to cool down (other than jumping into the kids’ paddling pool) is ice lollies! These rocket lollies reminded me of my childhood and I also love the bright colours and flat lay composition.

Why we think this is great: We’re always in need of fresh, high quality underwater imagery so we were super excited to see this set of images uploaded. We love the alternative perspective the photographer has used to capture the shark from beneath, it makes the image more engaging and the viewer feel as though they’re right there swimming in the ocean.

Why we think this is great: We love the rustic look of this overhead shot. We need some more authentic images of artisan bread and bakeries and this image fits that need well, the inclusion of hands cutting the bread creates a POV (point of view) shot that stands out from the crowd.

Why we think this is great: This week the National Health Service (NHS) had it’s 70th birthday and celebrations took place up and down the country to express the nations appreciation of the NHS. There were some great Live News images submitted of various events and this sign caught our eye.
These 5 images are just a small selection of the great content uploaded this week, you can view a larger selection of our favourites submitted in the last week here.
