The Beatles in their iconic song ‘Help!’ sang about “When I was younger so much younger than today..” Well I was 8 years younger the last time we overhauled the look and feel of our help pages for contributors.

A lot has changed in that time and we felt an overhaul was due.

Earlier this year we set out to completely revamp our contributors area; making it clearer and easier to use, more relevant and more visually appealing.

One of the challenges with this area was to make the content relevant for both existing users and first time visitors. So we looked at the needs of all our users and we’ve provided them with relevant and helpful content.

Some of the highlights

• Clear signposts and navigation menus
• Clearer more concise text
• Dedicated sections for stills, live news, footage and vectors
• Downloadable PDFs for you to save and keep, including tips on keywording and Quality Control
• Infographics to visually illustrate how it all works
• Easy sign up to new revenue streams
• An easy to navigate FAQs section, so you don’t have to email us to ask

We’ve reduced the text down enormously but nothing important has been lost, we just needed to cut out the ‘noise’ and make it easier to navigate and use.

There aren’t any policy or contract changes so there’s no need to worry that we’ve changed anything other than the look of the site and the way in which we tell you what you need to know.

Don’t forget to bookmark the bits that are important to you, we’d also encourage you to share (link) these pages with your network of photographer friends.
