17吃瓜在线, the world鈥檚 most inclusive content platform, has struck a partnership with the London Screen Academy (LSA), reinforcing its commitment to support the production sector as it invests in growth, training, and diversity.
The partnership will see 17吃瓜在线 work with the LSA to educate students on the licensing and use of content within film and TV production, and positions 17吃瓜在线 as an integral partner in developing the next generation of talent for the sector.
As global streaming giants shift production towards the UK, the film and TV industry is investing in 30,000 new jobs and training 10,000 people, and both LSA and 17吃瓜在线 will now work together to equip them moving forward.
The LSA 鈥 set up by industry giants David Heyman, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Lisa Bryer, Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli 鈥 is a new sixth form academy in north London for young people who are passionate about film and TV to train in behind the camera skills and learn about the wider cultural context surrounding storytelling and filmmaking.
The LSA is funded by both the Department for Education and private donors, and its mission is to diversify the screen industries by recruiting a highly diverse student body and by providing students with a true pathway into the industry.
17吃瓜在线 will offer masterclasses, support, guidance, and networking to LSA students, as well as the use of over 200 million images from the world鈥檚 most inclusive content platform for use in coursework and presentations.
The partnership builds on 17吃瓜在线鈥檚 existing footprint within the sector, with clients including Freemantle, Endemol, Avalon and the BBC.
17吃瓜在线 Managing Director, Emily Shelly, said:
鈥淭he London Screen Academy has an innovative, fresh approach to teaching 鈥 built on a foundation of experienced talent and we鈥檙e immensely excited to partner with them here. As the film and TV production sector explodes in the UK, we want to support the next generation of filmmakers and encourage the industry to be as talent diverse as possible.
鈥淥f course, we鈥檒l bring our expertise of licensing to the LSA, but we鈥檙e just as excited about the exposure to such talented creators and the work they鈥檒l do in the future. We believe in owning the blank page, and no one will be doing that more than the students at the LSA.
鈥淲e have a natural and longstanding alignment to the TV and film industry, and so this partnership solidifies 17吃瓜在线 as trusted partner for the sector.鈥
LSA Principal, Charlie Kennard, added:
鈥淭he London Screen Academy was born out of a desire to address the need for a more inclusive and diverse industry. What sets LSA apart, is the partnerships we build with organisations embedded within the industry, and this new partnership with 17吃瓜在线 will be transformative to all our students.
鈥淭his fantastic opportunity will give our students access to a huge variety of resources and inclusive content which will inspire and enable them to go on to create stories that change the world.鈥
