What is distribution?
Distribution is the licencing of content through our third-party partners around the world. In spite of certain barriers, such as language, our distributors are able to connect with customers that we otherwise would not have been able to. This allows us to generate more sales on 17³Ô¹ÏÔÚÏß content. Currently we have just over 100 Distribution partners spread across 40 countries covering 80 territories.
What are the benefits for Contributors?
As a contributor you have the opportunity to Opt-In to distribution sales as an additional revenue stream. Here are some of the reasons we believe you should:
- Our distribution partners can connect with customers that we otherwise would not have due to barriers, such as languages
- They are experts in the local market, often with long-standing ties to clients within that territory
- As a contributor you can be selective about which territories you choose to Opt-In to
- We create lightboxes for our distributors for marketing materials, these cover a range of events/topics. If you’re Opted-In to distribution your content has the chance to be showcased in these lightboxes
I’m a contributor, how do I Opt-In?
If you’re a contributor wanting to benefit from this additional revenue stream that’s great! Here are the steps to Opt-In:
- Log into your 17³Ô¹ÏÔÚÏß account and go to your contributor dashboard
- Just under your graph you will see a drop down for ‘Additional revenue options’ – click this
- Then you will see ‘Distribution’ – click onto this link
- Now you can either ‘Opt-In to all territories’ or you can choose selective ones from the list below
- If in any doubt you can email contributors@alamy.com and the team will be happy to support you
