New York City is the busiest city in the USA and one of the most photographed cities in the world, so we聽decided聽to explore the transformation of the city through the 1900s through to the phenomenon it is today.
New York City is famous for many things including the bright lights of Broadway, the ever聽impressive聽Empire State Building and the fast paced life of Wall Street. In this series of photos we look at some of the most iconic areas of New York then and now, we鈥檝e even included some great New York facts which might聽come in handy聽in your next pub quiz!

The Empire State Building
On a clear day you can see over 80 miles from the top of the Empire State building. Sights include New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

The Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge was built with loads of additional passageways and compartments – one compartment was famously used to store champagne and wine for a local dealer because the consistent temperatures kept the wine fresh.
