Explore the latest visual trends in the UK and US – Compiled using data from thousands of image buyers

Everyone knows that a picture is worth a thousand words, but are the images you use saying the right things about you, your client or your message?

Staying on trend is important in any industry, but when it comes to the creative world it is more important than ever. One of the best ways to find out what is on trend is to investigate the types of content that cutting edge designers and creatives are using in their projects.

Our Image Trends 2016 Report’ was created by analysing over 50,000 images purchased from our stock image library by thousands of creative image buyers in our US and UK markets. Our image research team conduct image research on a daily basis for our key customers, and they provided valuable insight into the types of content that they’re being asked for.  To further support our findings, we sought expert opinion from design professional Ned Selby to back up our results and provide commentary on each trend.

Trends are very much “of the moment” and they change from year to year, so we have used the latest data and information from our image buyers to bring you the most up-to-date trends. In this report we dig into the key trends for business imagery, everyday shots and travel photography – exploring just what it is that your audience are looking for.

As well as identifying the trends, we have dug a little deeper to give you some insight into the composition of the images, for example whether they are shot at a certain time of day, or what kind of people they feature. This will help you really nail down the type of images you should be looking for.

As a stock photo agency it is important to us that we help you find the perfect image for your project. Images can make or break an advertising campaign or creative project, and using the perfect image can help you get your message across perfectly.

This report is going to help you wow your clients by offering them on-trend images that are going to have a huge impact on their audience. By using real purchase data from our customers, we can be confident that the image trends identified in this report are based on actual images that have been bought by customers like yours.

We have broken down our findings into UK and US trends, because our research shows that there are different trends within each market.
