Featured photographer Andrew Parkinson – Bird Photographer of the Year 2016

Our featured photographer Andy Parkinson has not only won聽Nature Photojournalist of the Year 2012, but has just been named the winner of Bird Photographer of the Year 2016! With two major international titles under his belt, along with a whole host of other awards, we’re excited to showcase some of the incredible wildlife imagery Andy has produced over the years – 聽some of which you may have come across in National Geographic magazine!

Where did it all begin?

The passion for photography was ignited as a child. His inspiration came from a combination of the rural beauty of his home town in Mid Wales, along with the images produced by wildlife photographer Rick Packwood, who just happens to be Andy’s uncle. The most inspirational pictures Andy saw were from Rick’s travels across Africa, which gave Andy the drive to get out and experience the world for himself.

Andy says: 鈥淚 produce my images by immersing myself completely in the lives of the animals and birds with which I work. I鈥檓 motivated to try and produce inspiring images that can both educate and inform, and that reveal the staggering beauty and value of our natural world.鈥

We’ve picked out just a few of our favourites from the incredible collection of images Andy has available on 17吃瓜在线 to share with you:
