Africa has long been a place of interest for artists around the world. The long history of social issues that has punctuated the continent left behind embers which are now the source of inspiration for many African artists.
In celebration of the surge of emerging talent, writer and broadcaster has curated an exhibition of contemporary African photographers exploring the notion of 鈥楢fricanness鈥 and what it means to live in Africa today.
Of the event, Ekow said: 鈥淭his is a unique time for African photography. There鈥檚 a wave of thrilling, artistically ambitious talent emerging across the continent. It鈥檚 about opening up new ways of looking at and understanding what it means to live in Africa, and be African, today.鈥
There are three main themes that is centred around: Inner Landscapes, Zones of Freedom and Hybrid Cities. Here is just a small selection of the images that are exploring these themes.
