Glossy magazines, reality TV, social media, the list goes on. We have access to a seemingly endless supply of content promoting unrealistic ideals about what men and women鈥檚 bodies should look like to be deemed attractive.

Diet culture is shoved down our throats by influencers advertising things like Bootea Teatox which leaves us feeling empty (literally) and wondering why our bodies don鈥檛 look like those we see in the media.

Today, 鈥榝at鈥 has become not a description of size but a moral category tainted with criticism and contempt.

More often than not, images including overweight, plus-sized, or just 鈥榙ifferent鈥 bodies have a negative connotation. Globally, . Even using social media for as little as 30 minutes a day can negatively change the way people view their bodies. With Love Island gracing our screens again this summer, we鈥檙e reminded yet again that the media need to do better in representing body diversity.
