Fishing for trout during the mayfly hatch is very popular as the trout feast on the mayflies and will take artificial flies designed to imitate a mayfly. The period in the UK is often referred to as Duffer’s Fortnight as the trout are deemed easy to catch by even inexperienced anglers.
